Exactly which dangerous goods are prohibited for foreign postage?Prohibited goods
A wide variety of articles and substances - home cleaning products, pressurized aerosols, lighters, butane, paints or sprays, inflammable solvents, toxic and infectant substances, nail polish, sprays, fireworks, gas bottles, matches, chemical oxygen generators, hydrogen peroxide, lithium batteries and devices containing lithium batteries, car batteries, pesticides, fungicides, poisons, concentrated detergents, dry ice - even if easily available, can cause damage to people or things during transport.
For this reason the governmental bodies (ENAC – ENAV) and international air transport authorities (IATA and ICAO) have specified 9 classes of "Dangerous Goods" whose transportation is prohibited.
These items are covered by the IATA international air transport regulations and classed as Dangerous Goods.
Items classified as Dangerous Goods will not be accepted for delivery and must not be contained in the parcel.
